Adopting God’s Heart for the Disconnected

Jan 11, 2026    Pastor Anderson Walker

This powerful message challenges us to examine our hearts toward those who are spiritually disconnected from God. Drawing from Luke 15:1-2, we discover that Jesus welcomed publicans and sinners while religious leaders murmured in disapproval. The sermon confronts us with an uncomfortable truth: we often give ourselves more grace than we extend to others. We must recognize that the problems people face are fundamentally spiritual, not just behavioral. The God of this world has blinded minds, but we carry within us the very love of God that has been poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit. This means we possess everything needed to reach the disconnected. The question becomes: are we willing to get our hands dirty? Jesus didn't just teach from a distance; He ate with sinners, welcomed the excommunicated, and carried the lost sheep on His shoulders. He valued people enough to bear their weight during their journey to wholeness. The challenge for us is profound: do we see people the way God sees them, as wonderfully and fearfully made? Or do we judge their outward condition while missing the gem within? When heaven throws a party over one sinner who repents, shouldn't we match that celebration? We're called to be ambassadors of the anointing, bringing God's presence wherever we go, transforming atmospheres simply by showing up with His love.
